Raiders set to renew rivalry with Butler on Black Friday

DAYTON - The Wright State men's basketball team takes on a familiar foe in former Horizon League opponent Butler Friday afternoon when the Raiders and Bulldogs tipoff at 2 p.m. inside Hinkle Fieldhouse. Fans can follow the action several ways - watching on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network - 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play on the radio feed.

Fans can tune into 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' or WING 1410 AM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. The iHeartRadio app, the TuneIn Radio app and the Audacy app are all FREE and each carry both stations. LAST TIME OUT 
Wright State scored 24 straight points early in the first half and was in control throughout as the Raiders went on the road for a 79-62 win at Stetson on Tuesday night. Michael Cooper scored a game-high 19 points with a career-best five three-pointers, while Bryan Etumnu tallied 14 points of his own, his most in a Raider uniform, with four three-pointers, a new career-high from deep from him as well. Michael Imariagbe turned in a complete stat line with 13 points and a game-high seven rebounds and. Andrea Holden was the final Raider in double figures with 10 points to go with six rebounds and a pair of blocks.

BUTLER BATTLE
Wright State and Butler will meet for the 44th time on Friday. The pair squared off annually as conference foes for 18 seasons from 1994-95 through the 2011-12 campaign, with eight of those battles coming in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference/Horizon League Tournament.

BULLDOG BITES
- Butler enters Friday with a 5-1 record, tallying home wins over Southern Indiana, IU Indy and Chicago State, with wins at the Greenbrier Tip-off against South Carolina and Virginia. The lone loss was a two-point setback at SMU on November 15.
- Butler ended 2024-25 with a 15-20 overall record and a 6-14 mark in Big East play, concluding the season in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Crown. 

HITTING FROM DEEP
Wright State connected on 14 three-pointers in Tuesday's win at Stetson, just two triples shy of the program record 16 set last December at Oakland. The Raiders also hit 14 three-pointers last March against IU Indy in the Horizon League tournament first round. The Raiders have already connected on double-digit three-pointers twice this season (14, Stetson / 13, Radford) after tallying 10-plus triples 10 times in 33 games a year ago.

COOP'S COURT
Michael Cooper has opened his collegiate career with double-digits scoring in six of his first seven games, leading Wright State with his 14.7 points per game mark entering Friday. Cooper has tallied 19 points twice - against Kent State and Stetson - while also adding 17 points against California and Radford. His five three-pointers on Tuesday at Stetson were a new high in his young career.

BIG MIKE
Michael Imariagbe has opened the season with double-digit scoring performances in five of seven games, tallying his first double-double of the year with a 13-point, 10-rebound effort against Ohio Wesleyan (Nov. 20) and notching a season-best 17 points against Toledo.  He added another 10-rebound game on Nov. 15 versus Radford and is currently averaging 6.0 boards per contest. Imariagbe start to the new year comes after he ended 2024-25 with three straight contests of 10-plus points, a streak that saw him tally double digits scoring in five of the last seven games overall last season. 

HOLDEN IT DOWN
Andrea Holden has turned in three-straight double-digit scoring performances off the bench. Holden tallied a a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double against Kent State at the Greenbrier Tip-off on Nov. 16 before a career-high 16 points at home over Ohio Wesleyan on Nov. 20, following that with a 10-point, six-rebound effort on Tuesday at Stetson. Holden is currently averaging 15.9 minutes per contest, the seventh-most on the roster, but his 6.0 rebounds per game is tied for the best on the roster with Michael Imariagbe - all while adding 7.9 points per contest entering Friday.
