Raiders Tripped Up by Penguins Tuesday Night

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Wright State women's basketball team was tripped up by Youngstown State Tuesday evening, falling to the Penguins 46-65
Wright State (5-8) will wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule on Friday, December 19, against SEC foe Kentucky. Tip-off in Lexington is slated for 6:30 p.m.
The Raiders got balanced scoring with eight different Raiders finding their way onto the scoresheet, led by Breezie Williams with 10 points, followed by Lauren Scott with eight and Claire Henson with seven. Williams also led the Raiders with five rebounds and tied Rylee Sagester for the team-lead in assists with three.
Wright State started the game off well and led by one point after the first quarter, thanks to two early three-pointers by Williams. The Raiders and Penguins battled back and forth in the second quarter, with Youngstown State holding a two-point lead entering the locker room at halftime.
The Raiders knocked down three of their four three-pointers in the third quarter to keep themselves within striking distance in the fourth quarter. The Penguins finished the game on a 26-6 run across the final 12 minutes of the game to close out the game and build their largest lead of the game.
In the box score, Wright State trailed Youngstown State in rebounds (31-38), points in the paint (14-28), second-chance points (0-13), and fastbreak points (5-11). The Penguins outshot the Raiders from the floor (42.9-29.6) and from beyond the arc (38.8-38.9).
