Raider Bowlers split for pair of tournaments this weekend

DAYTON – The No. 19-ranked Wright State bowling team is set for a weekend full of action, with one squad attending three days of competition at the Flyer Classic throughout the weekend and another squad competing closer to home at the Ohio Bowling Conference Event 4 on Saturday.
Wright State earned its first-ever national ranking in the National Tenpin Coaches Association's February poll on Thursday.

Action in the Chicagoland area at the Flyer Classic begins Friday at 11:35 a.m. when teams will bowl in five Baker matches and total pinfall will determine the winners of each head-to-head match. Five traditional matches will follow on Saturday starting at 10:25 a.m. with total pinfall again determining the winners. Teams' totals from Friday and Saturday will be combined to determine seeding for the bracket, which will be contested in three best-of-seven Baker matches.

The Raiders will be represented in Chicagoland by Hannah Dingledine, Natalie Hanson, Rylie Jeanneret, Addy Meshew, Paige Patterson, Mia Sayles, Jasmine Schulze and Alli Shattuck.

Competing teams joining the Raiders at the Flyer Classic include: No. 1 Nebraska, No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Jacksonville State, No. 5 Youngstown State, No. 6 North Carolina A&T, No. 7 Wichita State, No. 8 Sam Houston State, No. 9 Stephen F. Austin, No. 10 Maryville, No. 13 McKendree, No. 14 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 20 Tulane, Augustana, Aurora, Carroll, Elmhurst, Indianapolis, Lewis, (RV)Marian, Oklahoma Christian, Quincy and Valparaiso. The second set of Raiders in action will compete at the Ohio Bowling Conference Event 4 at Columbus Square Bowling Palace in Columbus. Action gets underway at 10 a.m. on Saturday with Wright State participating in four regular and eight Baker games.
