Raiders wrap up HLTF Championships with final podiums

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Wright State track and field programs kept the podium finishes coming on Sunday in the final day of action at the 2025 Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The Raider men finished eighth overall for the championship, with the Wright State women finishing ninth overall for the weekend.

On Sunday, the Raiders had three third-place finishes and multiple more inside the top 10 to cap the weekend. Oliver Murray cleared a new personal-best and school record 4.61m on the way to third in the men's pole vault, a mark that was 0.06m better than his previous outdoor best and just better than his previous overall best of 4.60m from this February during the indoor season. Cierra Lively cleared 1.69m in the women's high jump to finish third, while teammate Olivia Aills was tied for eighth with her 1.58m clearance.

Nicholas Hoelscher turned in a new school-record time of 1:51.39, bettering the time he set in Saturday's prelims and was just over one second off the top mark in the men's 800m run to grab a third-place finish of his own. Mia Wyngarden was fourth in the women's 800m with her new personal-best 2:13.98 time and Hannah Falknor notched an 11.88 second time on the way to a fifth-place showing in the women's 100m race.

Greyson Pollock found the podium twice Sunday and finished the Championships with three total podium finishes, first clearing 1.97m in the men's high jump to grab seventh and also adding an eighth-place finish in the men's triple jump with his 13.19m mark. Back on the track, Emma Johnson ran a 17:27.41 time in the women's 5,000m run to pace 8 Wright State women and Evan McPherson was 15th with his 15:26.54 mark in the men's 5,000m run to lead six Raider men. Wright State's 4 x 400 group – Owen Kirkham, Nicholas Hoelscher, Patrick Statzer, Gavin Hutchinson – finished fifth with their time of 3:19.55 to wrap up the weekend's action.
