
Four Raiders Named to #HLBASE All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS – The Wright State baseball had four student-athletes named to the 2025 Valeo Horizon League Baseball All-Academic Team. Cam Gilkerson, Gus Gregory, JP Peltier, and Garrett Peters were named to the 14-member list voted on by the League's faculty athletics representatives.

To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution (excluding summer school), having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests, or 20 percent for pitchers.

Wright State's four All-Academic Team members are the most among Horizon League programs. As a team, the Raiders posted a 3.543 GPA in the fall, with 35 players recording a semester GPA above 3.00. Twenty-five Raiders had a GPA above 3.50, and 15 earned a perfect 4.00.

Cam Gilkerson, an Organizational Leadership major, holds a 3.739 cumulative GPA. The redshirt freshman has been named to the HL Academic Honor Roll each semester of eligibility and is a two-time Wright State Dean's List honoree, earning highest honors and high honors. On the field, the Hilliard, Ohio, native has appeared in 46 games (45 starts), batting .305 with 50 hits, including 11 doubles, one triple, and 11 home runs. Gilkerson ranks in the top 10 in the HL in slugging percentage (7th; .600), OPS (T-8th; 1.007), RBI (8th; 43), and home runs (T-6th; 11). He was recently named Horizon League Batter of the Week after a standout performance at Youngstown State, helping lead the Raiders to a series sweep.

Gus Gregory, also majoring in Organizational Leadership, boasts a 3.958 cumulative GPA. This marks the sophomore outfielder's second All-Academic honor after earning the distinction in 2024. He has been named to the HL Academic Honor Roll each semester and is a five-time member of the Wright State Dean's List, earning highest honors four times and high honors once. On the field, the Strongsville, Ohio, native is batting .356 with 28 starts in 33 games. He was named HL Batter of the Week on April 22 after a record-setting 11-RBI game at Oakland—currently the second-highest single-game total in the nation this season.

JP Peltier, a Marketing major, carries a 3.867 cumulative GPA. A three-time Wright State Dean's List honoree (with two highest honors), he has been named to the HL Academic Honor Roll in every semester of eligibility. Appearing in 48 games (47 starts) and batting .294 with 55 hits, including 12 doubles and one triple, the sophomore outfielder leads the team with 49 RBI. Peltier ranks third in the HL with 16 home runs. His .626 slugging percentage is fourth in the league, while his 19 stolen bases rank fifth. He was named HL Batter of the Week on March 18 and earned Joe Nuxhall Classic MVP honors on April 9.

Peters, a graduate right-handed pitcher, is working towards his master's in physical education and holds a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. A member of the 2024 HL All-Academic Team, Peters is a four-time HL Academic Honor Roll selection and a three-time Wright State Dean's List honoree with highest honors each time. He earned the first HL Pitcher of the Week award this season. The South Vienna, Ohio, native has appeared in 17 games (three starts), compiling a 3-0 record and ranking second in the league with four saves.
