COLUMBUS- The Wright State Raiders had top-10 finishes at the loaded Jesse Owens Invite hosted by Ohio State University.
Senior Ethan Neblock placed sixth in the 3000m steeplechase. Neblock was in the lead pack, finishing with a time of 9:21.81, a mere half second behind fifth but over 10 seconds ahead of the seventh-place finisher. This is his second-fastest time of the spring, two seconds behind his time at the Bison Classic.
Nicholas Hoelscher ran his second-fastest time in the 800 meters over the weekend, checking in with a time of 1:55.10 seconds. The freshman finished seventh in the 22-runner field and was a second and a half behind his outdoor-best time of 1:53.7 at the Bison Classic.
Sophomore Lylla Kovacs finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.97 seconds. Kovacs was the top Horizon League finisher and it was the third time this spring she's clipped the 15 second mark.
Sophomore Noah Sharp ran to a ninth-place finish in the 1500 meters. Sharp was the top Horizon League finisher and third among underclassmen in the 23-runner field. His time of 4:00.59 is his third-fastest of the spring, albeit on a wet track in Columbus.
The Owens Invite was the final tune-up before the Horizon League Championships. The three-day event gets started on Friday from Farmers National Bank Field in Youngstown, Ohio. The full calendar of events can be found here.
