Volleyball hosts lone exhibition on Saturday afternoon

DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team gets set for its 2025 season with a Saturday afternoon home exhibition contest against Cincinnati, set for a 2 p.m. start inside McLin Gymnasium. There will be no live stats available for the exhibition.

Wright State opens the regular season at the WKU Invitational against Western Kentucky, Drake and Loyola August 29 and 30 before heading to take on Nebraska and Cal at the Ameritas Players Challenge September 5 and 6.

The Raiders then return to what will be an exciting atmosphere inside the Nutter Center for Tru by Hilton Beavercreek Invitational, welcoming power opponents Pittsburgh and Ohio State, along with in-state foe Ohio, September 12-14. The move marks the first time collegiate volleyball has been played in the Nutter Center since Wright State hosted the 1991 National Invitational Volleyball Championship. LAST SEASON REWIND
Wright State finished the 2024 season with a 24-7 overall record with a 16-2 Horizon League mark, winning the HL regular season title for the third straight season before playing in the NIVC tournament last December.

GETTING IT DONE IN THE CLASSROOM AND ON THE COURT
Wright State earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the fourth straight season and the 10th time overall when the honors were announced this summer. The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
