Henson finishes with a season-high 20 points on senior night

DAYTON- The Wright State women's basketball team came up short against Cleveland State Wednesday night, 55-81.
Wright State (10, 20, 6-13 HL) will hit the road for its final regular-season game at Robert Morris on Saturday, February 28. Tip-off in Moon Township is set for 4 p.m.
Claire Henson finished with a season-high 20 points to lead the Raiders on senior night. In her final game in the Nutter Center, the senior finished with a career-high 10 made field goals on 16 attempts. Henson also led the Raiders in rebounds (7), assists (3), steals (1), blocks (1), and minutes played (34). Ellie Magestro-Kennedy joined Henson in double digits, turning in 10 points of her own.
Cleveland State started the game out hot, scoring 20 points in the first 10 minutes to jump out to a 16-point lead after the first 10 minutes. The Raiders bounced back in the second quarter, shooting 69.2 percent from the floor and 67 percent from behind the arc to outscore the Vikings 22-19 in the second quarter. Wright State trailed by 13 points entering the locker room at halftime.
The Vikings kept their foot on the gas in the second half, outscoring the Raiders by three in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Raiders and end up with a 26-point road victory.
Izabella Zingaro finished with a game-high 29 points to lead Cleveland State on Wednesday night. Zingaro finished shooting 9-11 and 11-13 from the free-throw line. She was joined in double digits by Jada Leonard (15 pts), Macey Fegan (15 pts), and Colbi Maples (11 pts).
In the box score, Wright State trailed Cleveland State in rebounds (24-33), points in the paint (22-44), second chance points (6-8), and fast break points (2-8), while leading the Vikings in bench points (18-9).
