Raiders set for Horizon League title tilt Tuesday night

INDIANAPOLIS - The top-seeded Wright State men's basketball team is set to face No. 3 Detroit Mercy in the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League championship game on Tuesday night with a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line. Tuesday's game is set for a 7 p.m. tipoff and fans can follow the action several ways - watching on ESPN, via live stats or by tuning in to the Wright State Radio Network - 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play on the radio feed.
Fans can tune into 101.5 FM 'The Fridge' or WING 1410 AM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. The iHeartRadio app, the TuneIn Radio app and the Audacy app are all FREE and each carry both stations. Freshman Michael Cooper scored 23 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to lead top-seeded Wright State to a pull-away 103-90 victory over No. 7 Northern Kentucky on Monday in the Barbasol Horizon League Championship semifinals. Cooper led five Raiders in double figures as Wright State shot 56 percent on the night and dropped their most points in a Division-I game this season.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE
Wright State and Detroit Mercy will meet in the Horizon League Championship game for the first time on Tuesday. The two teams have met in the HL tournament six times previously, but not since 2016. Detroit Mercy won the first three postseason meetings (1996 & 2000 quarterfinals, 2005 second round) before the Raiders grabbed wins in the 2008 first round, the 2010 semifinals and the 2016 second round.
HOPING TO KEEP THE TREND GOING. . .
Wright State will attempt to be the third straight Horizon League team to complete the regular season and tournament title sweep, joining Oakland (2024) and Robert Morris (2025).

Tuesday will be the 74th meeting all-time between Wright State and Detroit Mercy. The Raiders leading the series 44-29 and have won 21 of the last 25 overall over the last eight seasons. The first meeting came back on Jan. 5, 1994, a 78-71 Wright State road victory inside Calihan Hall.Â
