DAYTON – Wright State men's basketball coach Clint Sargent has announced the signing of Terrence Hayes Jr. this afternoon to an Athletics Aid Agreement to attend Wright State University and join the Raider program beginning this fall.
The newest Raider comes from Gary, Indiana and 21st Century Charter School.
"We're thrilled to welcome Terrence and his family to our program," Sargent said. "What stands out most is his ability to influence the game beyond just scoring. His defense and rebounding will make an immediate impact within our style of play. He brings great energy on the court, celebrates his teammates' success, and will be a strong addition to our culture in every way."
Hayes Jr., a 6'2" guard, averaged 17.3 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, 4.4 assists per game and 3.2 steals per game last season as a senior while leading 21st Century Charter to a 17-7 record. Hayes led the Cougars to a 21-7 campaign as a junior while averaging 20.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 3.4 steals per game. He was also a varsity standout as a sophomore, scoring 18.9 points per outing while contributing 6.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.8 steals.
Hayes Jr. becomes the fifth addition to the Wright State roster, joining transfers Sam Johnson and Chadlyn Traylor, along with fellow high school signees Noah Lewis and Tahj Martin.
