DAYTON – The Wright State men's soccer team (0-1) will open the home portion of its 2026 campaign Sunday afternoon as Belmont visits Alumni Field. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.

SCOUTING THE BRUINS
Belmont finished 2025 with an 8-3-6 overall record with a 3-2-2 record in Valley play. The Bruins opened the 2026 season with a two-goal loss to Memphis at home Thursday night.
HISTORY VS. BELMONT
Sunday will mark the eighth all-time meeting between Wright State and Belmont, a series the Raiders lead 5-1-1. The Raiders came up short against Belmont when the two squads met in Nashville a season ago, falling 2-1.
LAST TIME OUT
The Raiders dropped their 2026 season opener on the road at Bowling Green Thursday night, falling to the Falcons 5-2.
It was all Bowling Green in the first 45 minutes with the Falcons striking for goals in the 13th, 36th, and 38th minutes to jump out to a three-goal halftime lead.
Wright State would respond and score the first goal of the second half from the penalty spot. The Raiders were awarded the penalty in the 54th minute thanks to a handball in the box by the Bowling Green defender. Raider newcomer Alessandro Duran, who caused the Falcon handball, stepped up to the penalty spot and fired the ball past the keeper for his first collegiate goal.
Bowling Green would respond right back with a goal less than one minute later to regain its three-goal lead. The Falcons would tack on a fifth goal in the 83rd minute with a penalty kick of their own.
The Raiders would get one more back in the 88th minute when Brian Burkett played a long through ball up to Tedrick Neptune, who danced around the goalkeeper and placed the ball into the back of the net. The goal is Neptune's first of his collegiate career.
In the box score, Wright State trailed Bowling Green in shots (23-14) and shots on goal (12-6), but led the Falcons in corner kick opportunities (5-2)
LAST SEASON REWIND
Wright State finished 2025 with a 2-13-1 overall record and a 2-7 mark in Horizon League play. Three Raiders earned Horizon League All-League honors in 2025, with Henry Hutchinson and Roman Kedgley being named to the All-League Third Team, while Alessandro Malterer was named a finalist for the Sportsmanship award.
