PITTSBURGH, PA – The Wright State volleyball team closed play at the Panther Invitational on Sunday afternoon with a three-set loss to host Pittsburgh inside Victory Heights Arena.

Wright State (4-5) will head up to East Lansing, Michigan to compete in the Kathy DeBoer Invitational. Wright State will take on Drake Friday afternoon and the host Spartans on Saturday evening.

The Panthers earned the sweep by scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-14. Pittsburgh hit .476 as a team and recorded 43 kills while limiting Wright State to a .043 attacking percentage.

Pittsburgh established control early in the opening set, using a 13-3 run to build a double-digit advantage before taking the frame 25-10. The Panthers continued their efficient offensive performance in the second set, hitting .533 while recording 17 kills to move within a set of the match. Wright State battled throughout the third set and trimmed the deficit to 16-14 midway through the frame, but Pittsburgh closed the match on a 9-0 run to complete the sweep.

The Raiders finished the afternoon with 27 kills, 23 assists, 63 digs and seven service aces. Wright State also recorded 26 assists and held a 29-26 advantage in digs.

Mya Ayro and Reilly Zegunis paced the Raiders with nine kills each. Haley Robinson added six kills while hitting .417, and Katie Sowko chipped in five kills. Abbey Knight recorded two kills, while Olivia Schmidt added one kill.

Lauren Yacobucci directed the offense with 23 assists and six digs. Taygan Corstange anchored the back line with a match-high 26 digs, while Sowko added 17 digs and Greta McKee contributed four digs.

Ayanna Watson led Pittsburgh with 13 kills and hit .650, while Olivia Babcock added 13 kills and posted a .765 attacking percentage. Izzy Starck recorded 28 assists as the Panthers remained undefeated through 10 matches.
