Normandeau Makes Seven Saves in Raiders' Loss at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Wright State men's soccer team fell on the road Thursday night, falling to Louisville 3-0.
Wright State (1-3-1) will hit the road again to open Horizon League play on Wednesday, September 9 at Milwaukee. First touch is slated for 4 p.m.
The Cardinals controlled the opening half, outshooting the Raiders 12-0 over the first 45 minutes, but Wright State remained scoreless thanks to four first-half saves from Alex Normandeau.
The Raiders generated their best chance of the night early in the second half when Gabe Gotting put a shot on target in the 53rd minute, but Louisville goalkeeper Nathaniel Abraham made the save.
Louisville broke through in the 59th minute when Ryan Quintos finished a scoring chance off assists from Noah De Blasis and Braydon Sellers to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.
The Cardinals added a second goal just over a minute later as Håkon Edstrøm scored off an assist from Sellers in the 60th minute. Louisville pushed its advantage to 3-0 in the 63rd minute when Sellers found the back of the net on an unassisted goal.
Normandeau finished the night with seven saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal for the Raiders. Gotting recorded Wright State's lone shot and shot on goal of the match.
In the box score, Wright State trailed Louisville in shots (20-1), shots on goal (10-1), and corner kick opportunities (5-1).
