Nick Silvis joined the Wright State baseball staff in September 2022 and serves as the Director of Baseball Operations / Analytics and Player Development. His primary responsibilities include video coordination and day-to-day operations.
Silvis joined Wright State after two years as an assistant coach with the Division III Ohio Northern baseball program. Under the guidance of Silvis, ONU batted above .300 in both seasons while also tallying 13 all-conference selections and one ABCAÂ All-Mideast Region honoree.Â
The Polar Bears placed third in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 20-11 record in 2021, advancing to the conference tournament's quarterfinals. Corey McMann set a school record with 20 doubles during the 2021 campaign and added top-10 program marks in RBI (43) and total bases (95). In 2022, ONU knocked off No. 1 Marietta on the road and saw three individuals join the 100-hit club.Â
The native of nearby Xenia, Ohio was a four-year starter at Wilmington College, ending his career with 132 hits and a career .295 batting average. Silvis was an All-OAC recipient as a junior after batting .318 with 20 RBI and seven stolen bases in 37 games. He was also impressive in the classroom, earning Academic All-OAC honors on three occasions.
Silvis graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wilmington in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in sport management.
