The Wright State women's soccer team traveled to Detroit on Friday afternoon and played to a 1-1 tie at Titan Field. Freshman Amber Kasmer netted her sixth marker of the season and Meghan Hackerson made one save in the tie.

The two teams played even through the first half of the match, with each team launching four shots and UDM holding a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. Meghan Hackerson made one save in the first stanza and was helped by her defense who also posted a save in the half.

The Titans got the scoring started in the 71st minute when Trina Kochanski connected on an assist from Liz Hardy. It was the first time the Raiders trailed in league play this season and was the first goal given up by WSU in league play.

At the 81:04 mark, the Raiders even the contest when Kasmer connected with her sixth goal of her rookie campaign. The freshman took an assist from Nicole Amador and sent a rocket into the back of the net. It was the fifth straight match that Kasmer has netted a goal and is now the eighth straight match that WSU has tallied at-least one goal.

In the game, Wright State held a 15-7 edge in shots, a five to three edge in shots on-goal and took four corner kicks to UDM's three. WSU forced Detroit goalkeeper Katie Fortenberry to make four saves in the match, while Hackerson didn't face a shot on-goal in the second half.

Wright State (9-3-1, 2-0-1 Horizon) will play the second of their four-match road trip at Youngstown State on Sunday, October 14, starting at 1:00.
