Sports Performance

Weight Room_2021

Mission Statement:
The Sports Performance is committed to cultivating an environment that incites competition and offers the student-athletes the best chance to succeed. This is accomplished by bringing a contagious level of energy and providing a comprehensive program that utilizes scientifically supported methodologies.

Vision:
To prepare, produce, and protect the student athlete while maintaining the People, Student, Athlete mindset.

Core Values:
  • Explosive Triple Extension everyday (Olympic lift, throw, jump, sprint)
  • Develop and maintain a great base of strength throughout the entire year
  • Value the individual, praise great effort, and reward performance
  • Teaching over yelling
  • Develop each person athletically and mentally

Overall Program Philosophy:
The base program has three primary goals for all student-athletes: 1. Increase athleticism (strength, power, work capacity), 2. Reduce non-contact injuries and 3. Instill a desire for self-improvement. This is accomplished by utilizing a scientifically backed program using free weight, ground based, multi-joint, explosive exercises. Athletes perform a myriad of exercises, but focus on three main genres: Olympic lifting (snatch, clean, and jerk), powerlifting (squat, bench press, and deadlift), and accessory/corrective exercises. The goal is to replicate the velocities and forces that are experienced during competition to help them excel on the court or field.
