Box Score Wright State held the advantage in shots, shots on-goal and corner kicks, but Detroit connected on the match winner in the 102nd minute for a 1-0 double overtime decision in women's soccer action Friday night at Alumni Field.
The two teams played a scoreless regulation with the Green and Gold holding a 14-6 advantage in shots. The Raiders made Detroit keeper Katie Fortenberry make five saves in the first half and UDM recorded one team save.
Each team tallied one shot in the first overtime period and the Titans connected with the match winner at the 101:43 mark in the second extra period. Trina Kochanski took a pass 35 yards out, dribbled past a WSU defender and sent a shot to the far post for the golden goal.
In the match, WSU held a 15-8 advantage in shots, took six corner kicks to zero for UDM and the Raiders had six shots on-goal to only two for Detroit. Six different players recorded shots-on for Wright State.
Wright State (8-8-1, 3-3-1 Horizon) wraps up the regular season on Sunday, October 19, hosting Youngstown State at 1:00. WSU's three seniors--Stephanie Habner, Amy Miller and Jess Rooma--will be honored before the match.
