Corey Griest, formerly corporate marketing manager for the Dayton Dragons, has been named Director of Promotions for the Wright State University athletics department, WSU Senior Associate Director of Athletics Maureen Cooper announced Tuesday.
Griest has held his current position with the Class A Midwest League Dragons since 2006 where he was charged with design and implementation of marketing strategies for renewal and increase of season ticket sales, corporate sales and group sales. Prior to his position with the Dragons, the Wright State graduate held a similar position with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer.
"Corey brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Raiders in many areas, including ticket sales and promotions," Cooper said. "He is familiar with the area as well as the school which will play a pivotal role in our success with season ticket sales and the game-day experience for our fans. We look forward to having him on board and part of our family."
Griest, a WSU soccer player from 2002-2005, earned his degree from Wright State in Marketing with a minor in Management. During his time at WSU as a student, he was an active member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, planning fund-raising events and community service.
