
Women's Basketball Defeats Findlay in Exhibition

Wright State held Findlay to just 11 points in the first half as the Raiders went on to a 65-43 decision over the Oilers in women's basketball exhibition action at the Nutter Center Wednesday night.
WSU snapped an early 2-2 tie with seven straight points, four of those coming from LaShawna Thomas, and broke the game wide open with a 16-1 run over a 8:11 span that extended the margin to 27-7, including six from Shey Peddy and four by Erica Richardson.
The Raiders shot 41 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes while holding Findlay to just 17 percent on four-of-23 shooting. Wright State also led 17-0 in points off of turnovers as they forced 14 while committing seven.
WSU maintained a 20+ advantage for all but a minute in the second half as the Raiders shot 46 percent the final 20 minutes to finish the night at 43 percent overall compared to 26 percent for the Oilers.
Wright State also held a 45-32 rebounding edge and had the advantage in points in the paint (34-12), points off of turnovers (25-12), fast-break points (12-0) and bench scoring (25-10).
Thomas paced the Raiders with 13 points while Peddy had 12. Richardson chipped in eight points and 10 rebounds and Ta-myra Davis seven points and 11 boards. Off the bench, Tatianna Hall scored eight points while Molly Fox had seven.
Audra Mihalic led Findlay with 15 points, including an 11-for-11 performance at the foul line.
Wright State opens the regular season on Saturday, November 22, at Evansville starting at 5:00 Eastern time. The home opener for the Raiders is Tuesday, December 2, against Miami at 7:00.
