Women Win at Detroit

Box Score

Behind a first-half goal from I'esha King, the Wright State women's soccer team won their third straight Horizon League game Wednesday with a 1-0 decision at Detroit.

King's goal came at the 18:53 mark of the first half as she received a cross from the right side by Adrianna Guerrero and connected from 16 yards out.  It was King's third goal of the season, all of which have come in the last two matches.  Guerrero recorded her second assist of the year.

That would be all the Raider defense would need as they held Detroit (12-5-1, 5-2 Horizon), which had scored 44 goals in 17 games coming into the day, to just five shots, with WSU goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy notching three saves in posting her fifth shutout of the season.

Wright State (8-6-2, 3-2-1 Horizon) heads to Valparaiso Sunday for another key Horizon League contest starting at 2:00 Eastern.
