The lone goal of the contest came at the 79:06 mark of the second half as senior forward Emilie Fillion delivered a corner kick from the right side to senior defender Liz Soto, who headed in a shot for her third goal of the season. It was the fifth assist of the year for Fillion.
WSU's defense took over from there as they held the Vikings to just four shots on the night, one in the second half, while the Raiders attempted 16 shots, nine after halftime. Senior goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy recorded a pair of saves as she posted her seventh complete shutout of the season and third straight.
With the win, Wright State (8-5-4, 5-1-1 Horizon) will be the #2 seed for next week's Horizon League Tournament. The Raiders will play the highest remaining seed from Tuesday's first round matches, which could be either Oakland, Detroit or Valparaiso, in the semifinals on Friday, November 8, at Engelmann Stadium in Milwaukee. Game time is yet to be determined.
