Women's Soccer Defeats Detroit in Regular Season Finale

Box Score

The Wright State women's soccer team clinched the #4 seed for next week's Horizon League Tournament with a 2-0 victory at Detroit Friday afternoon.

Sophomore midfielder Bryce Hueber put WSU up for good at the 20:31 mark of the first half with her sixth goal of the season, tying her for the team lead.  Hueber connected on a long shot from outside of the box to the top corner of the goal.  Senior midfielder MacKenzie Hamilton was credited with the assist, her first of the year.

Sophomore midfielder Sarah Colvin then provided the Raiders with an insurance goal at the 83:27 mark of the second half.  Colvin's first goal of the season came as she gathered in a cross from senior forward Natalie Sedlock and finished into the open goal.  It was the first assist of the year for Sedlock.

Senior goalkeeper Halle Pyle recorded her fourth shutout of the season, notching four saves despite Detroit finishing with a 14-10 shot advantage.

With the win, Wright State (8-7-1, 5-3-1 Horizon) will be the #4 seed for next week's Horizon League Tournament.  The Raiders will host Valparaiso in the first round on Monday, November 2, at 7:00 at Alumni Field.
