Women's Soccer Travels to Detroit on Friday to Wrap Up The Regular Season

Wright State women's soccer (10-7, 5-3) travels north to take on Detroit Mercy (4-12-1, 1-7) on Friday for a 4:00 pm contest.

Winners of three out of their last four conference matches, the Raiders look to finish the regular season on a strong note.  Junior midfielder Maddie Cutts has scored the game winning goal in the last two matches leading to 1-0 victories.  Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week sophomore goalkeeper Mattie Jewell has recorded shutouts last week in both conference victories, running her total to six on the season.

Detroit Mercy

The Titans welcome the Raiders to Titan Field on Senior Day.  This match will be their final regular season conference match.  Currently sitting at 4-12-1 and 1-7 in the conference, the Titans record may be misleading with all but one conference match ending in a one-goal differential.  Last week, they recorded their only conference victory in a 1-0 overtime win over Youngstown State before falling to Green Bay 1-0.  On offense, the Titans are led by senior Rachel Deluca, freshmen Kelli Doyle and freshmen Rachel Russo.  In goal, junior Marina Manzo has played the majority of the minutes and has recorded 78 saves and allowed 23 goals on the season.

Series

The Raiders currently hold a 13-10-5 series edge over Detroit including a 0-0 tie last year at Alumni Field.

Next Up

Following the contest, the Raiders will find out their Quarterfinals match-up for the Horizon League Tournament.  The Raiders could finish with a four seed and host a match on Monday, October 30 at Alumni Field or they could hit the road as the five seed.  The Semi-Finals and Finals would take place on November 2 and 4.
