Raiders Play in Horizon League Tournament in Green Bay

The Wright State volleyball team will make its first Horizon League Tournament appearance since 2008 and the first trip under the new format which was adopted in 2009. Wright State will play Northern Kentucky Thursday at 4 pm eastern and, with a win, WSU will play number one seed and host Green Bay Friday at 4 pm in the semifinals. The championship match is slated for Saturday at 3 pm.
Wright State
The Raiders, finishing the regular-season at 15-13 and 7-9, ended the season by sweeping home matches against Cleveland State (3-2) and Youngstown State (3-1). With the wins, WSU secured its fist .500 or better season since 2003 as well as is most league wins since 2010. Jenna Story was named the Defensive Player of the Week as she currently is having the fourth-best season at Wright State for digs. The Raiders and the Norse split the two matches this season with the home team winning each time. Celia Power, Abby Barcus and Teddie Sauer each average better than 2.50 kills per set for the season while Alannah Lemming.
Sophomore Teddie Sauer was voted to the first team while Sophomore Celia Powers was chosen to the Honorable-Mention Team and freshman Jenna Story was selected to the All-Freshman Team. It is the first time since 2001 WSU volleyball has received three all-conference honors. Northern Kentucky
Five Norse volleyball players earned All-Horizon League honors on Thursday afternoon. Senior Haley Libs and sophomore libero Ashton Terrill were named to the All-Horizon League First Team, with Bailey Western taking home honorable mention and Anna Brinkmann and Miranda Wucherer landing on the all-freshman team. Libs earned first-team honors for the fourth time in her career, while it was Terrill's first time on the first team and Western's first honorable mention nod.
NKU finished the year at 19-7 and 11-5 in League play to place third overall. The Norse have a six-match winning streak. WSU and NKU split the pair of matches this year as the home team won each time with Northern leading the overall series 20-13.
