The Raiders, 4-3, will be back home on Sunday at 2 pm to face off against Kent State. After starting 1-3 Wright State then reeled off three straight wins in the Nashville Tournament last weekend with their wins coming against Hofstra, Stetson, and Marist. After capturing the Challenge in Music City Broadway Bracket title last weekend, the Raiders will be back home for one game before heading back on the road again.
Wright State
The Raiders are looking to continue off of their strong performances in Nashville where they averaged 75 points while only letting up 56 points against per contest. Despite running cold from three-point range, the Raiders have been dominating their opponents in the paint recently. Senior Mackenzie Taylor and junior Michal Miller are leading the Raiders on offense this season with 13.3 and 10.4 points per game, respectively. Coming off of the bench, freshman Angel Baker is averaging 9.4 points and is also the team leader in assists.
Senior Mackenzie Taylor will be looking to join her teammate Emily Vogelpohl in the 1000 Point Club, Taylor is currently sitting at 980 career points.
Kent State
After opening the season with two losses to North Carolina and North Carolina State, the Golden Flashes then beat three straight Horizon League teams; among them the Raiders' rival Northern Kentucky. Kent State is led on offense by guard Megan Carter. Carter is averaging an astonishing 18 points per game and had a season-high 22 points at #17 NC State. On the other end of the court, the Golden Flashes are led by freshman forward Lindsey Thall and senior center Merissa Barber-Smith. Thall and Barber-Smith have combined for 69 total rebounds while also blocking 17 shots.
