
Raiders look to open conference play against IUPUI Friday

Ten days after falling to the Charlotte 49ers in overtime, the Raiders will hit the hardwood again when they travel to Indianapolis on Friday to open up conference play against the IUPUI Jaguars. Friday's game at IUPUI's Gymnasium, The Jungle, is slated for a 7:00pm tip-off.
Wright State
The Raiders, 8-4, are returning to play ten days after their 88-85 overtime loss to Charlotte. Wright State tied the game with less than three seconds left in overtime, but the 49ers were able to call a timeout and have an inbound pass in their offensive end. 49ers' Laia Raventos was able to collect the inbound pass and hit her shot from the corner. With time expiring on the shot Charlotte was able to put the Raiders' seven game win streak to an end.
Wright State has three players averaging more than ten points on the season. Michal Miller leads the Raiders with 12.6 points per game, a large portion of which comes from behind the arc where she is shooting .381. Taylor Mackenzie averages 11.5 points per game and Angel Baker provides 10.5 points from the bench.
IUPUI
The Jaguars, 6-5, are coming off of a 78-73 overtime loss to the Southern Illinois Salukis. Four Jags players reached double-digits in the loss with Macee Williams pouring in 20 points and also hauling in 10 rebounds. The Jaguars were able to force overtime against the Salukis by coming back from a five point deficit with only a minute remaining in regulation.
On offense IUPUI is led by Macee Williams who is averaging an astonishing 20.1 points per game and is shooting .512 from the field. The sophomore center is also leading the team in rebounds where she hauls in 8.7 each outing. Junior guard Holly Hoopingarner is second on the team in points per game, where she averages 12.7.
