@WSU_SB Falls in Semi-Finals

The Wright State softball team fell in the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament, losing 2-1 at the hands of Oakland University.

The Raiders continued to follow behind the pitching of senior Ashley Sharp, pitching in her fourth game in three days. Another exceptional game, she pitched six innings while only conceding two earned runs and six hits. Going up against the best pitchers in the Horizon League this week, the Raiders at times struggled to find the run support for Sharp. Today, the Raiders could only find one run, coming in the fifth inning as Honnah Susor singled home pinch-runner Jordyn Poulson.  WSU had the opportunity to put more runs on the board in that fifth inning, with runners on second and third with only one out, but squandered the opportunity. Madison Mills, Kaitlyn Skinner, and Kelly Dillow were the other three Raiders to collect hits on the day.

With the loss, WSU was eliminated from Horizon League Tournament, ending the 2018 season with a 21-32 under first-year head coach Laura Matthews. The five seniors of Honnah Susor, Macey Gunther, Ashley Sharp, Jordan Kennaw, and Kelly Dillow conclude their careers as Raiders.

Sharp was named to the all-tournament team.
