Visiting Kent State held the lead for only 2:52 on Saturday night, but it was a three-pointer with under 10 seconds remaining that handed Wright State a 72-71 loss inside the Nutter Center. Kent State's Danny Pippen hit a contested three from the corner in front of his bench as the clock ticked under 10 seconds to play to give the visitors their one-point advantage.
Cole Gentry drove the length of the court for Wright State before the ball was deflected out of bounds, setting up an inbounds pass and a midrange jumper from
Bill Wampler that bounced away as the final horn sounded. Wampler finished with a game-high 18 points for the Raiders, who also saw Hall finish in double figures with a 15-point scoring night of his own.
Trey Calvin tallied nine points, while Gentry and
Loudon Love each added eight points.
KNIGHT TO SEE YOU

The teams' only other meeting this century came in December of the 2014-15 campaign, an 81-58 Raider victory. Wright State and Urbana have also squared off during the 1973-74, 1974-75 and 1984-85 campaigns.
