
Wright State set to host Marian on Education Day

The Wright State women's basketball team returns to the Nutter Center on Wednesday morning for their only home contest in the month of December. The contest is free for all in attendance and will include over 600 local elementary students for Basketball Education Day. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.

The Raiders are coming off a 69-61 victory over SMU inside Moody Coliseum on Friday night. Angel Baker turned in career-best performance on Friday night, tallying 34 points and pulling down five rebounds. Michal Miller finished with 11 points and Tyler Frierson added seven points and led the Raiders with 11 rebounds. In total, seven different Wright State players contributed in the scoring column.
With the win, the Raiders improved to 4-3 on the season and the Mustangs fell to 4-4 overall.

Basketball Education Day is a free day of fun for elementary school aged kids and fans of all ages in the Dayton area to come out and enjoy a great game of basketball while learning health and fitness tips that they can utilize through on-court speakers, video board presentations and more.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Marian opened their 2019-20 campaign with a 69-56 victory on the road at Culver-Stockton as a part of the Culver-Stockton Classic.
- Katie Gearlds enters her seventh season at the helm of Marian and during her time with the Knights she has complied an overall record of 178-43.
- In 2016-17, Gearlds led the Knights to their second-straight NAIA national championship, finishing with an all-time best 35-3 record. Marian won both the regular season and conference tournament titles in the Crossroads League.
- Marian was voted as the preseason favorite to win the Crossroads League Championship. Macy Willoughby was named to the Preseason All-Crossroads League First Time, Macie Lively was named to the Preseason All-Crossroads League Third Team and Rachel Titzer was named to the Honorable Mention Team.
