
Raiders Head to Orlando for Two-Day Tournament at UCF

The Wright State women's basketball team heads to Florida for two games in the UCF Holiday Tournament, beginning on Friday afternoon with a 12 p.m. tipoff against St. Bonaventure inside Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. The Raiders are one of four teams competing and will have an additional game on Saturday against UCF at 1:30p.m.

In their last contest, the Raiders fell on the road to Iowa State 79-71 Sunday, December 15. Senior Michal Miller led the scoring efforts for the Raiders with 24 points, four rebounds (two offensive and two defensive), three assists and two steals. Sophomore Angel Baker added 15 points, while redshirt freshman Shamarre Hale contributed 11 points, four rebounds one assists and one steal for the Raiders. Junior Tyler Frierson pulled down a team leading seven rebounds (one offensive, six defensive) along with three blocks.

ST. BONVAVENTURE
- The Bonnies are 2-8 on the season. St. Bonaventure opened the year with an 68-54 victory over Cortland on November 30.
- Friday's contest will the third time this season the Bonnies have played a Horizon League opponent, as they have previously played Cleveland State (L, 65-62) and Oakland (W, 80-66)
- Jesse Fleming is in his fourth season as St. Bonaventure's head coach, taking control of the program in 2016. Fleming holds an overall record of 27-72.
UCF
- The Knights are 5-4 on the season, most recently with an 80-58 victory over Quinnipiac on December 17. UCF opened their 2019-2020 campaign with a 74-58 victory over Pittsburgh on November 6.
- Katie Abrahamson-Henderson joined the Knights as head coach in April of 2016. Abrahamson-Henderson came to UCF after six seasons at Albany, where she led the Great Danes to a combined nine America East Conference tournament and regular season titles.
- The University of Central Florida's women's basketball team was picked to finish T-3 in the American Athletic Conference's preseason poll. Kay Kay Wright was named as a preseason Player of the Year as well as named to the preseason All-Conference First Team.
