Wright State faces UT Arlington on the road

The Wright State women's basketball team hits the road for the fourth consecutive game this season as the Raiders are set to face-off against the Mavericks of UT Arlington on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT in Texas. The Raiders are 3-2 on the season, while the Mavericks are 4-3 after the first month of play.

The Raiders are coming off a 66-51 win over Loyola Maryland in the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday morning. Three Wright State players finished the contest with double digit scoring efforts as Angel Baker led the team with 23 total points, Michal Miller contributed 12 total points and redshirt freshman Shamarre Hale had 10 points of her own.
With the win, the Raiders improved to 3-2 on the season and the Greyhounds fell to 1-6 overall.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- The Mavericks opened their 2019-2020 campaign at home against Chicago State on November 9, walking away with an 84-53 victory. UT Arlington has also tallied wins against North Texas, Grambling and (RV) Kansas State to start the year with four consecutive wins, but dropped their last three. UT Arlington lost to No. 8 Louisville, No. Oregon and (RV) Oregon State over the Thanksgiving holiday at the 2019 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Krista Gerlich enters her 6th season at the helm of UT Arlington and during her time with the Mavericks, she has complied an overall record of 100-83 (268-136 career).
- UT Arlington finished second in the Sun Belt Conference during their 2018-19 campaign, finishing with an overall record of 24-8 and 15-3 in the Sun Belt. The Mavericks were picked third in the 2019-20 Sun Belt preseason poll.
- Sophomore Claire Chastain was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team, while sophomore Katie Ferrell earned a spot on the Third Team.
