@WSU_WTennis Opens League Play at Northern Kentucky

The Wright State women's tennis team will open up their conference slate on Saturday night against the Northern Kentucky Norse. Matches are scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills with the men's team playing at 5:00 PM.Â
Last season the women's team won 5-2 against the Norse at home.Â
The Raiders and the Norse have shared four opponents this spring. The two teams have both fallen to Ball State and Xavier while taking away victories from Saint Francis (PA) and Western Kentucky.Â
Wright State
The Raiders are 8-10 on the season and have dropped their two most recent matches against MAC opponents.Â
Northern Kentucky
The Norse are 4-5 this season and are set to host the Raiders after a 1-6 loss to Xavier last weekend. On singles' court two, Maria Koo claimed Northern Kentucky's lone point on the day with a 6-3 victory.Â

Luisa Pelayo and Grace Whitney were flexed to the top of the doubles order for the first time this past weekend went a perfect 2-0 record against the two MAC squads in Miami (OH) and Ball State. In the Raiders' first match on Saturday morning against the Miami RedHawks, Pelayo and Whitney defeated Priyana Kalita and Milana Lysova by a score of 6-1.Â
Once again playing at the top of the order for the Raiders, Luisa Pelayo and Grace Whitney were able to take the match away from Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington by a score of 6-3. The previous week, Ball State's Berger and Herrington were named the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week.
Northern Kentucky
The Norse are 4-5 this season and are set to host the Raiders after a 1-6 loss to Xavier last weekend. On singles' court two, Maria Koo claimed Northern Kentucky's lone point on the day with a 6-3 victory.Â
