Wright State (15-23, 3-9) couldn't avoid the sweep against IUPUI on Saturday. The Jaguars put together an impressive comeback victory in game one and shutout the Raiders in game two. IUPUI completed the sweep after a 5-2 opening game victory on Friday.

Game 1

1st Inning
Wright State couldn't be stopped in the first inning, scoring all of their seven innings in the opening frame. The Raiders sent 11 batters to the plate and quickly forced the Jaguar starter Melzoni out of the game. Rebekah Lenos started the game with a double to left center and Meredith Keel bunted her over to third. Brianna Hutchinson wore a pitch, and with runners at the corners, Madison Whitaker connected for an RBI single. Madison Hartman followed with a single to load the bases, and a wild pitch moved the runners and brought the second run home. Raidyn Johnson recorded the third straight single for the Raiders, and Madison Whitaker scored. Melzoni was replaced in favor of Dezirae Leonard, but the Raiders kept the offense rolling. Madison Nunez drew a walk to load the bases, and Macy McCall registered an RBI single scoring Hartman. Madison Mills grabbed a bat and executed a sac fly for the fifth Raider score. Rebekah Lenos wrapped up the scoring with the way she began the inning by ripping a double into left. Wright State took a big 7-0 lead after the top of the first. The Jaguars added a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.

5th Inning
Leonard settled in nicely for IUPUI in the circle and kept the Raider offense silent for the remainder of the game. The Jaguars scratched across a run in the fourth and did their damage in the fifth. IUPUI loaded the bases and scored a run on a hit by pitch. Then, a double cleared the bases and tied the game. The eighth IUPUI run was scored on a wild pitch from Makenna Durieux. The Jaguars held on to win the game 8-7.

Game 2

After handling the Wright State lineup on Friday, Lexi Lucas stepped in the circle for the final game of the series and dealt a three-hit shutout. IUPUI opened a big lead with a grand slam and never looked back, winning 7-0. Rebekah Lenos, Brianna Hutchinson, and Madison Hartman recorded the three hits for the Raiders.

Wright State will continue their road trip with a single-game matchup at the Toledo Rockets on Monday and will then return home to face Dayton in a doubleheader on Wednesday.
