Raiders Claim Crusader Collegiate Title

The Wright State golf team carded a three round total of 853 for an 11-under team score to win the fourth annual Crusader Collegiate hosted by Valparaiso as three Raiders finished in the top 10 individually. The title was the Raiders' second at the event after previously winning in 2017.
Austin Schoonmaker shot a final round 69 to finish the tournament tied for second with a five-under 211 total. Bryce Haney also recorded a 69 in his final 18 holes on the way finishing tied for sixth at three-under (213). The Raiders' low round of the week came in the second round when Mikkel Mathieson fired a 67 on the way to finishing tied for eighth at two-under (219). Tyler Goecke (219, +3) finished tied for 22nd and Cole Corder rounded out the Wright State team scoring at 223 (+7, T-39).
Wright State's 11-under team score was five shots better than North Dakota State and tournament host Valparaiso, the only other teams to finish under par in the 15 team field, and the Raiders were 25 or more strokes ahead of 10 teams in the field.
The Raiders are back in action next week at the River Run Collegiate in Davidson, N.C. on Monday and Tuesday.
