2/21/2020 2:15:00 PM | Men's Basketball
The Wright State men's basketball team secured the No. 1 a double-bye to Indianapolis and the semifinals of the 2020 Horizon League Championship following its victory over Northern Kentucky on Feb. 28 to win its first outright regular season title in program history. The Raiders will play in the first semifinal contest on Monday, March 9 against the lowest remaining seed at 7 p.m. on ESPNU inside the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
Â
The top two men's and women's teams in the regular season standings each earned their spots in the semifinals on March 9. The championship game will be played the following night, Tuesday, March 10. The remaining eligible teams are playing in opening round and quarterfinal round games at campus sites on March 3 and 5 to round out the field that will play in Indianapolis.
This season will be the first at the new venue for the championships, as the event moves to Indianapolis and the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Events Center. The venue, which seats 6,800, is exactly two hours from the Wright State campus, while eight of ten schools are within five hours of Indianapolis.
Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com or by calling the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office at 317-927-7601.
Both Monday's semifinals and Tuesday's championship will have two sessions – one session for women in the afternoon, and one session for men in the evening. There are a total of four sessions. Men's games will be ticketed as both Reserved and General Admission while women's games will be ticketed as General Admission only. Reserved seating is available for single sessions only. General Admission seating is available for both single-sessions and all-sessions.
As the No. 1 seed, Wright State is guaranteed to be the home team on Monday in the semifinals and will also be the home team on Tuesday in the championship. To sit with other Raider fans, we suggest you purchase Reserved seats in section 108 (across from the home bench), or buy General Admission seats and sit directly behind section 101. Sections 101 and 100, located behind the home bench, are sold out for Monday, but are available for Tuesday's championship game.
