DAYTON – The Wright State women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker on Thursday night, falling 2-1 in overtime to Robert Morris at Alumni Field.

Wright State (4-8-3, 2-4-2 HL) used a second half goal by Brittney Petrosky to tie the score and had all the momentum over the second 45 minutes before a stalemate throughout most of the overtime period. A corner kick opportunity for Robert Morris taken by Kaoru Hayashi in the 98th minute bent in and found the back of the net off the hands of Raider keeper Jessika Seward to give the visitors the win.

Robert Morris (5-9-2, 1-5-2 HL) took an early lead in the 14th minute on Allie Ball's goal, thanks to an assist from Hayashi, as the visitors controlled most of the first half. RMU tallied 10 of its 16 total shots in the opening 45 minutes, but it was the lone shot of overtime that turned into the golden goal.

The Raiders tied the game in the 50th minute on a give-and-go goal between Petrosky and Destiny Johnson, and finished with six of their 13 shots in the second half. Despite being outshot 16-13, Wright State had more shots on frame (9-6) than RMU.

Petrosky finished with a match-high four shots, including a trio on frame, for the Raiders, who also saw three attempts from Olga Massombo. Three Robert Morris players, including Hayashi, tallied three shots each. Seward finished with three saves for Wright State, while RMU keeper Isabella Bohlen recorded seven saves.

Wright State travels to Oakland on Sunday afternoon before closing the regular season with back-to-back home matches at Alumni Field, beginning October 23 against UIC before an October 27 matching with Northern Kentucky. Sunday's match is slated for a 1 p.m. start and is expected to be streamed on ESPN+.
