Three finish with double-digit kills as Raiders down Milwaukee Friday night

DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team got back to its winning ways on Friday night, taking the final three sets in a 3-1 victory over Horizon League-leading Milwaukee inside McLin Gymnasium.

The Raiders (17-7, 9-3 HL) dropped the opening set, 25-19, before coming back with a 25-21 set two victory, notching a 25-20 mark in the third set and ending the night at 25-18 in the fourth set. Milwaukee (18-8, 12-2 HL) has now lost its last two matches.

Wright State finished the night with a .280 team hitting percentage, including individual set percentages of .421 in the second set and .378 in the fourth set. The Raiders committed 21 total errors, but only 12 collectively across the final three sets of the night. On the opposite side, Milwaukee ended the night with a .233 team hitting percentage but saw 13 of its 19 errors come over the final three sets.

Sam Ott finished with 18 kills and a .469 hitting percentage, both match-highs, while Megan Alders added 15 kills and Callie Martin tallied a double-double behind 14 kills and 13 digs. The Raiders finished with nine blocks, including four from Grace Hauck off the bench, while Martin and Lainey Stephenson each added three blocks. Stephenson passed out 46 of Wright State's 64 assists, while Jenna State had a match-leading 22 digs. Martin was the only other Raider with double-digit digs with her 13.

Wright State is back in action inside McLin on Sunday afternoon as the Raiders host Green Bay. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the match is expected be streamed on ESPN+. Wright State will honor five players prior to Sunday's match - fifth-year seniors Nyssa Baker, Celia Powers and Teddie Sauer, along with seniors Grace Hauck and Ellee Ruskaup.
