Volleyball tallies four-set Senior Day victory on Sunday afternoon

DAYTON – The Wright State volleyball team dispatched visiting Green Bay in four sets on Sunday afternoon, concluding the Raiders' regular season home slate inside McLin Gymnasium as the team celebrated Senior Day and the careers of five Raiders.

Wright State (18-7, 10-3 HL) dropped the opening set, 25-17, before rolling off set wins of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-15 to complete the comeback and walk away with the win.

Nyssa Baker turned in a match-high 14 kills on her Senior Day, also stuffing a match-leading eight blocks. Sam Ott added 12 kills and Callie Martin had 10 kills of her own along with 11 digs. Lainey Stephenson passed out 46 of Wright State's 51 assists, completing her own double-double with 12 digs, while Jenna Story's 30 digs was a match-high.

Prior to the match, the Raiders celebrated five players - fifth-year seniors Baker, Celia Powers and Teddie Sauer, along with seniors Grace Hauck and Ellee Ruskaup. Baker was a 2019 First Team All-Horizon League performer and a two-time member of the Horizon League All-Tournament team, while Powers (2019, 2020) and Sauer (2018, 2020) are both two-time first team HL selections. Hauck was named the MVP of the Flyer-Raider Invitational earlier this season and Ruskaup serves on the Horizon League's One HL committee.

Wright State now heads out on the road for its final four matches of the regular season, beginning this Friday and Saturday at Purdue Fort Wayne and IUPUI. The Raiders close the slate on November 12 and 13 at Oakland and Cleveland State. Wright State begins the final stretch in third place in the Horizon behind Milwaukee and Norther Kentucky.
