Women's Soccer set for Thursday matchup with Detroit Mercy

DAYTON – The Wright State women's soccer team plays its first of two matches this week on Thursday night as the Raiders welcome Detroit Mercy to Alumni Field for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The Raiders (4-5-3, 2-1-2 HL) are riding back-to-back wins, while Detroit Mercy is 1-10-1 overall and still looking for its first Horizon League win, coming into the week with a 0-4-1 League mark.
Destiny Johnson's four goals leads the Raider offense, while Olga Massombo has added three goals of her own. Johnson's nine points and 21 shots pace the Raiders as well. Five other Raiders have recorded double-digit shot attempts to date: Brittney Petrosky (14), Lauren Borchert (13), Michelle Rings (13), Massombo (12) and Kaylin Helinski (10). Johnson and Borchert each have a team-leading 11 attempts on frame so far this season.
Detroit Mercy is coming off of a 1-0 loss last Saturday at Green Bay. Julie Ann Piechocki leads the offense with three of the teams' 10 total goals, while her 23 total shots also pace that category. The Titans ended the spring season 2-6-1. Detroit Mercy and Wright State met in February with the Raiders tallying a 2-1 victory.
