Grant Basile Named Horizon League Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS/DAYTON – Wright State redshirt-junior Grant Basile has been named the first Horizon League Player of the Week of the season, the League office announced on Monday.

Basile turned in a career-best 37 points on Friday night as the Raiders went on the road against Marshall, and ended the first week of play with a 25.0 points per game average through a pair of contests. Against Marshall, Basile was 12-of-21 from the floor and added a 12-for-14 mark from the free throw stripe. He's shooting 62 percent from the floor early on after opening the season with a 6-of-8 shooting night with 13 points in a win over Lake Erie, tallying his first double-double after adding 13 rebounds and four blocks.

Basile and the Raiders remain on the road for a Tuesday night meeting at Purdue. Wright State and Purdue will tipoff at 7 p.m. and the game can be seen on Big Ten Network. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have the Raider radio call on WZDA 103.9 FM in Dayton and streaming on the iHeartRadio app.
