Box Score WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – Trey Calvin had a career night, but it was not enough as the Wright State men's basketball team fell at No. 6 Purdue 96-52 Tuesday night inside Mackey Arena.
Calvin finished with a game-high 21 points, surpassing his former career-best 19 points from December 2020, but Wright State (1-2) saw scoring from only five other Raiders on the night.
Calvn had five points at the break, as Holden's seven led all Raiders after the first half, while
Grant Basile had five points after 20 minutes. Calvin finished the night 9-of-17 shooting, including hitting three of his nine three-point attempts, as his nine made baskets was also a career-best.
Holden finished with 17 points, while Basile's final tally was seven points. The Raiders also saw scoring from
Alex Huibregtse (four points),
James Manns (two points) and
Andy Neff (one point).
Wright State finished the night shooting 31 percent (18-of-59) from the floor, while hitting five three-pointers as a group. The Raiders tallied 23 total rebounds, including 17 on the defensive glass.
Purdue was led by Trevion Williams' 20 points and 13 rebounds, while big man Zach Edey added 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Wright State now heads to Florida for three games in the Naples Invitational beginning Monday afternoon, as the Raiders' first game will be a 2:30 p.m. tip against George Washington.
