Raiders head north for important regular season finale

DAYTON - The Wright State men's soccer team is set for an all-important regular season finale on the road Wednesday afternoon at Detroit Mercy. Match time is set for 2 p.m. and is expected to be streamed on ESPN+.

The Raiders (5-9-1, 4-4-1 HL) are coming off a come from behind home win over Cleveland State on Saturday night, while Detroit Mercy (4-6-5, 3-3-3 HL) has lost its last two contests and is just 1-0-3 at home this season.
Entering Wednesday's final matches of the regular season, the Raiders currently sit in fifth in the Horizon League standings with 13 points, two points back of fourth-place UIC (15 points). Detroit Mercy and Northern Kentucky both enter Wednesday with 12 points.
After his hat trick Saturday night, Reece Allbaugh leads Wright State with six goals this season, followed by four goals from Zion Beaton. The Raiders have eight players with double-digit shots this season, paced by 30 attempts from Beaton and 25 from Presten Manthey. Allbaugh has a team-leading five assists, while Manthey and Ids Hannema have each added three.
Detroit Mercy has scored 12 goals over its 15 matches, three players having tallied three goals each. Demetri Pliakos has a team-leading five assists, 11 total points and 31 shots to go along with his three goals. Jonathan Kliewer has started 14 matches in net and has allowed 14 goals against 52 saves this season with five shutouts.
Wright State earned a 3-2 overtime road victory over Detroit Mercy back on February 10 behind a pair of goals from Kouadio and a goal from Harvey Slade.
