Wright State falls to Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon

The Wright State women's soccer team dropped its second game of the season to the #HLWSOC preseason favorite Milwaukee, 3-0 Monday afternoon inside the Mosh Performance Center.

With the loss, the Raiders fall to 1-2-0 overall and 1-2-0 in HL play while the Panthers improve to 3-0-0 and 3-0-0 in conference play.

Milwaukee looked to attack early as Maggy Henschler's shot just two minutes into the match was saved by redshirt freshman Jessika Seward. Reagan Clark looked to record the Raiders' first goal in the ninth minute but her shot would go high. Madison Keller's shot in the 24th minute was saved by Elaina LaMacchia before Lauren Borchert's attempt to break the score line was stopped by LaMacchia in the 30th minute. After nearly 40 minutes of scoreless action, Wright State found themselves down 1-0 just five minutes before halftime as Milwaukee's Mackenzie Schill tallied the first of three goals for Panthers.

Just five minutes after halftime, Wright State found themselves down 2-0 following a Taylor Hattori goal in the 50th minute. Josie Krupp recorded back-to-back shots for the Raiders, with her first to the bottom left corner saved by LaMacchia in the 77th minute before her 79th-minute shot was high and to the right. The Panthers tallied their third and final goal of the contest in the 80th minute.

  • Wright State tallied a close 10 shots to Milwaukee's 11, with four being on goal to the Panthers six.
  • Madison Keller and Josie Krupp tallied a team-leading two shots (one on goal), while six other Raiders attempted shots. Kaley Mincy and Lauren Borchert each recorded one shot on goal.
  • In goal, Jessika Seward tallied two saves for the Raiders.
