Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Rings' goal helps Raiders battle to double overtime draw Thursday night

The Wright State women's soccer team battled to a double overtime 1-1 draw on Thursday night, using a late second half goal from Michelle Rings to knot the score and eventually finish with the tie.

The Raiders (1-0-1) now get set for a trip to take on Oklahoma State on Sunday night. Sunday's match time will be an 8 p.m. ET start and can be seen on ESPN+.

After a weather delay of over 45 minutes before the start, the teams played to a scoreless first half on Thursday night before visiting Bellarmine (0-0-2) took the lead in the 54th minute on a Regan Kommor goal into the bottom corner of the net. The Raiders turned up the pressure throughout the remainder of the second half, setting up Rings' tally into the top left corner thanks to an assist from Mikaylee Zeurcher.

Wright State ended the night with a 13-9 shooting edge and a 5-4 advantage on shots on frame, with Destiny Johnson recording a match-high five shots, along with two shots each from four different players – Lauren Borchert, Olga Massombo, Haley Walton and Rings. On the other end, Raider goalkeeper Jessika Seward finished with three saves in her four opportunities.

The Raiders now get set for their toughest test of the young season against Oklahoma State, who will enter Sunday's matchup 2-1 overall after a Thursday night win over Oklahoma.
