STILLWATER, OK – The Wright State women's soccer team turned in a valiant effort on the road Sunday night, recording a 1-0 loss at Oklahoma State after allowing an early goal.
The Raiders (1-1-1) finished the night with the same number of total shots – 10 – as Oklahoma State, but ended the night with four shots on frame to the hosts' three.
Oklahoma State (3-1), receiving votes in the latest polls, took the lead just 10 minutes into the match on a score from Grace Yochum thanks to a pair of assists, but from there, things would become deadlocked the remainder of the night.
Wright State turned up its pressure in the second half, recording seven of its 10 shots in the second 45 minutes, while holding Oklahoma State to just three attempts in the same time span. Raider keeper Jessika Seward made both of her saves in the first half and did not face a shot in the second half.
Seven different Raiders recorded shots, including two apiece from Michelle Rings, Josie Krupp and Haley Walton, while both of Rings' attempts were on frame and one of Krupp's forced a save as well.
Wright State remains on the road for its next two matches, beginning first with a visit to Akron on Thursday night before traveling to take on UT Martin next Sunday afternoon. The Raiders return home to Alumni Field on September 9 when they host Butler.
