Women's Soccer continues road trip at Akron Thursday

DAYTON – The Wright State women's soccer team continues its longest road trip of the season on Thursday night as the Raiders travel north to take on Akron, with match time set for a 7 p.m. start.

The Raiders (1-1-1) fell 1-0 at RV Oklahoma State on Sunday, but finished the night with the same number of total shots – 10 – as Oklahoma State, but ended the night with four shots on frame to the hosts' three.

Wright State has three players with one goal each so far this season – Olga Massombo, Destiny Johnson and Michelle Rings – while Massombo's three points leads all players. Johnson's 11 shots pace the Raider offensive attack.

Akron is 0-3 on the young season, with its last match coming on August 26 and its most recent match on August 29, against Cleveland State, postponed. The Zips tallied a 3-5-1 mark back in the shortened spring season. Akron and Wright State last met on the pitch in August of 2009, with the Zips handing the visiting Raiders a 2-1 loss.
