LAST TIME OUT
Wright State battled back from a two-goal deficit for an important point in the standings with a 2-2 draw at Cleveland State Saturday night. The Raiders fell behind early thanks to a pair of Cleveland State penalty kick goals by Albert Portas in the 25th and 40th minutes. Wright State responded though, using a turnover at midfield to create an odd-man rush in the 43rd minute that Reece Allbaugh buried off the tough angle via a through ball from Cole Werthmuller. The Raiders picked up the offensive intensity early in the second half and were ultimately rewarded when Joe Kouadio settled a bouncing ball and tucked a rocket just inside the top right corner from the top of the box in the 60th minute to knot the score.
SCOUTING THE TITANS
Detroit Mercy is 4-6-5 entering the finale with just a 1-5-3 record away from home this season. The Titans have not played since Oct. 22, a 2-0 loss at Robert Morris in HL action, while their last win came back on Oct. 15 at Milwaukee.
HISTORY VS. DETROIT MERCY
The Raiders are 19-13-2 all-time in the series against the Titans, with Detroit Mercy handing the Raiders a 1-0 loss in Michigan in last year's finale to keep Wright State out of the postseason. Wright State won in Michigan in overtime in the Spring 2021 campaign and the last Raider home win was in Oct. 2019 – a 3-1 victory.
UP NEXT
Wright State will await its final seeding and upcoming matchup in the 2022 Horizon League Championship.
