Track and Field to compete at Oliver Nikoloff Invitational

DAYTON — The Wright State track and field will compete in the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on Saturday, April 2, at Gettler Stadium in Cincinnati.
The meet will stream on YouTube, while live results will also be available. Parking will be $5 in the Calhoun Garage next to Gettler Stadium.Â
Women's competition will begin at 11 a.m. with the long jump. The 3,000-meter steeplechase at noon will kickstart running events. The final event of the day, the women's 10,000-meter run, will commence at 6:45 p.m.
The Raiders will compete against 17 schools, including meet host Cincinnati, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, IUPUI, Kentucky, Miami (OH), Ohio State, Purdue, Toledo, Northern Kentucky, and Western Michigan. All events will run as finals, with heats seeded fastest first.Â

LAST TIME OUT
Despite a small contingent of Raiders competing at the Yellowjacket, WSU tallied one individual win, four runner-up finishes, and 11 top-10 placements en route to placing fifth out of 20 teams with 56.5 points.Â
>> Abigail Halsey led the Raiders with a victory out of 74 competitors in the 1500-meter run. She crossed the finish line with a time of 4:49.98, outlasting the runner-up by three seconds. Emma Shigley was close behind in eighth (5:00.82), followed by Kaitlyn Miller in 17th (5:10.93), Emma Johnson in 32nd (5:23.11), and Nataly Dunes Diaz in 37th (5:30.95).Â
>> Cierra Lively made a statement in the high jump by placing second overall with a clearance of 1.58 meters. The personal-record outdoor mark was the third-best in program history. Amelia Harlow finished sixth (1.48m) in the event, while Tatiana Brown tied for seventh (1.48m).Â
>> Melissa Siler finished second out of 21 competitors in the javelin with a best throw of 28.88 meters. Brown finished 12th in the event at 22.70 meters, while Bekah Robertson reached a PR of 18.82 meters.Â
>>Â Robertson was at her best in the 100-meter hurdles, taking second with a time of 16.85. She added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (28.12).Â
>> Alicia Neumeier paced WSU in sprinting events with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash (1:02.41) and a fifth-place mark in the 200-meter dash (28.12). Alycea Ruhlen earned fourth in the 400m (1:05.10) and went on to take 11th in the 200m (29.27).Â
