Track & Field grabs 16 Top 15 finishes in final tuneup Saturday

SPRINGFIELD, OH - The Wright State indoor track & field teams turned in 16 Top 10 finishes on Saturday at the Wittenberg Invitational in the Raiders final tuneup ahead of next week's Horizon League Indoor Championships.

Horizon League Indoor Championship action gets under way next Saturday, February 28 with multi-events, field events and track preliminary action before titles are handed out on Sunday, March 1 with more multi-events and field events, along with finals on the track. The Horizon League Indoor Championship will take places at the Watson and Tressel Training Site at Youngstown State.

Saturday at Wittenberg, the light Raider contingent turned in solid times throughout the day.

In field events, Nathan Bright's first-place finish in the men's high jump after clearing 2.00m led the way for the Raiders, with teammate Landon Monnin finishing third after clearing 1.91m in the same event. Oliver Murray was fourth in the men's pole vault after his 4.45m mark, while Jacob Holbert was 10th in the men's long jump with a 6.18m effort.

The Wright State women saw Oliva Aills place third in the women's high jump after clearing 1.58m, with teammate Taryn Stills seventh with her 1.48m clearance. Heidi Stammen was ninth in the women's pole vault with her 3.36m mark, while Molly Spiker was 10th in the women's triple jump with a 9.48m mark and Izabella Bell led five Raiders in the women's long jump with her 4.93m mark to finish 14th.

Wright State had several standout running performances throughout the day as well. Kaitlyn Miller was fifth in the women's mile with her 5:06.97 time, with teammates Shelby Hept (10th, 5:12.53) and Mia Wyngarden (14th, 5:15.63) also inside the Top 15 in the same race. On the men's side, Bryce Page's 8:50.55 time in the men's 3,000m race gave him fourth place, with teammate Nathan Sheriff 12th at 9:03.28. Owen Kirkham was 13th in the men's 800m race with a 1:58.25 time, while Reece Page was 14th with his 4:25.57 time in the men's mile.
