Â
LAST TIME OUT
Wright State scored early and often last Saturday as the Raiders tallied their first win of the year with a 3-1 road victory at Green Bay. Wright State jumped ahead on Nico Likulia's score in the 13th minute off a pair of assists from Kobe Perlaza and Reece Allbaugh. The lead doubled later in the half on Joe Kouadio's goal in the 25th minute of action and the final tally of the afternoon came in the 62nd minute by Conner Osterholt.
Â
SCOUTING THE NORSE
Northern Kentucky enters the match 3-4-1 overall with a 1-1 Horizon League mark and coming off a non-conference draw Tuesday at Western Illinois. The Norse lost their HL opener at Robert Morris back on September 10 before a 3-0 home win over Purdue Fort Wayne last Saturday night. A season ago, Northern Kentucky went 6-11 overall with a 4-6 HL mark.
Â
HISTORY VS. NORTHERN KENTUCKY
The Raiders and Norse will meet for the 18th time in the series on Saturday, with the Raiders double overtime winners at NKU last season thanks to a final second header from Harvey Slade. Wright State is 13-4 all-time against the Norse dating back to 1982 and the Division II era.
Â
HORIZON TALLIES
Despite just two Horizon League matches to date, Wright State's five goals are the second-most in the HL behind Robert Morris (7). The Raiders tallied a pair of goals in a draw against IUPUI before the three-goal effort at Green Bay. In five non-conference matches, Wright State recorded only two goals (one each against Akron and Duquesne). The Raiders' 33 total shots in two Horizon League contests leads the League, seven shots clear of Purdue Fort Wayne, while Wright State's 15 shots on goal are one back of Robert Morris' HL-leading 16.
Â
NET MINDING
Goalkeeper Sebastian Jimenez is No. 22 nationally and second in the Horizon with 30 total saves entering Saturday's match, while his 12 saves in Horizon League play leads the League. Jimenez has recorded eight saves twice this season, at Jacksonville and at Green Bay, a mark that matches his career-best.
Â
NEXT UP
Following Saturday's match, the Raiders hit the road for their next two matches as Wright State takes on Milwaukee next Wednesday before a visit to Robert Morris next Saturday. Four of the next five matches are on the road for the Raiders, with the lone home contest coming on October 8 against Purdue Fort Wayne.
